How to eat?

1. Heat and soften before slicing

The whole ginseng root is hard in texture, so it is recommended to heat it before slicing it:

  • Microwave : Wrap the ginseng root in a wet paper towel and place a cup of water next to it. Heat on medium heat for 30-60 seconds . Remove and slice.
  • Steaming/bain-marie : Heat for 5-10 minutes until the ginseng meat is tender and sliced evenly.
  • Oven : Heat at a low temperature of 90–100°C for 8–12 minutes to soften the ginseng roots without affecting their flavor.

2. Common ways to eat

  • For tea : 3–5g slices, brew in 90–95°C hot water for 5–10 minutes, refill 2–3 times.
  • For soup : simmer 5–10g with chicken or pork rib broth for 60–90 minutes.
  • Cold brew : Put 2-3 slices in a mineral water bottle, and let the flavor develop in 2-4 hours. Add more as you drink.
